MAJOR UPDATE!!!

So I am going to try and update what we have been doing for the past 8 months. WOW does time flies.

January-Decided to move out of our rental house and start looking for a house to buy.

February-Packed, packed, packed. We put everything in storage. Looked and looked at houses.
Found one we really liked.



March-Moved in with my parents. Our offer on the house was finally accepted and all paperwork was done. Closing date was set for March 26th. The principal of Dustin's school talked to him before spring break and said he didn't have a full time schedule for the 2010-2011 school year. That meant half pay and no insurance. He told us he would know more after spring break. Wow what a week. We called our realtor and loan officer and told them we had to put everything on hold. There was no way we were buying this house if he didn't have a job. One week turned into 3 weeks and we finally got the answer we of course had been praying for. Dustin had a full schedule. So we extended all of our deadlines on the house and it worked out perfect. New closing date was set for April 23rd.

April-Moved in with my in-laws. Easter was so fun this year with my girls. We went to my parents house for lunch. When we pulled up to their house my sweet dad and hung pretend butterflies from the trees in his yard. My parents gave the girls bug catchers and they had a blast going around catching butterflies. Then we went to Gough's for dinner and had our annual little kid and big boy Easter egg hunts. It is so fun to see how each year the kids get older and how some can now find eggs by themselves.

We closed on the house on our house April 23rd. Scary, happy, excited, nervous all in one.

May-Jason and Kylie got married on May 8th. (I stole all of the wedding pictures from my sister-in-law Cynthia's blog. I am glad she had her camera)

We finished May up my with school ending, the soccer season ended, and Chad (Dustin's little brother) graduated from high school. I didn't take my camera but here is a picture of Dustin with the other teachers walking into the ceremony (stole this from my sister-in-law Rachel)














We also worked on the house as much as we could in our spare time.

June-Worked on the house, and Emma had her 3rd birthday. We went to the River Walk to celebrate with friends and family. Emma has loved Tinker Bell ever since we went to the Halloween carnival at Snow Canyon High School last year. A student was dressed up like Tinker Bell and painted faces. Emma loved it so I decided to ask that student if she would come to Emma's party and paint the kids faces. She was so sweet to do it. I can't get the video to load that shows me pointing Tinker Bell out to Emma, having her run and give her a big hug, and telling her to come meet her cousins.

July-Celebrated the 4th of July at our sister-in-law Taylor's parents house. We had a BBQ and swam. It was so fun and my girls loved the water almost as much as their dad.


















Then we went to the park and watched fireworks.

The rest of the month was dedicated to finishing up the house. We finally finished on the 11th and moved in on the 12th. We lived in the house 6 days and then left for 2 weeks. Our first stop was Lake Tahoe. It was my parents 50th wedding anniversary on June 22nd. All of my siblings and their spouses went and we had an absolute blast. We stayed in a 3 story cabin. We all had our own room but shared bathrooms and the kitchen. I left my kids with my in-laws and I couldn't thank them enough for taking my girls after having them 24-7 for 4 months. They are the best in-laws/grandparents anyone could ask for. I love them so much. While in Tahoe we went to the beach, relaxed by the pool, ate, and shopped. One of our favorite things we did was a sunset, dinner, cruise. It took us over to Emerald Bay and showed us the summer home of Mrs. Knight.


It was built in 1929. It is called Vikingsholm. It took 200 men to construct, it has 38 rooms, half the roof is made of moss, and a beautiful waterfall behind it. It was amazing. The only way to tour it was to take a 2 mile hike down the mountain. We didn't know that until we got there and most of us were in flip flops so we didn't go. Here are some pictures.

Emerald Bay

Then we drove to Salt Lake on the 23rd where we met my in-laws. They went up for my mother-in-laws families annual 24th of July party. We missed the party because we had family pictures.

After pictures we had a going away party for my niece and her husband. They moved to Minnesota where her husband will be attending law school. We had dinner, a giant blow-up screen outside that we played the Wii on, and just hung out. It was a great time. We spent 5 days in Salt Lake at my sisters house. It was very fun and busy being with her and her family. On the 29th (Dustin's birthday) we headed to Bear Lake for my mother-in-laws side family reunion. We had so much fun and had a hard time leaving. We spent 2 full days in the sun on the beach and the water was perfect. My kids hardly came out of the water. It was fun to see Dustin's grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cousins that we don't get to see very often.

August-We are just loving that we are finally in our house and trying to put things together. School and football are in full swing. We will miss our husband and daddy until football is over.
